About us
Sigay Kauyagan is committed to the holistic, equitable, and long-term advancement of the cultural communities of the Southern Philippines. We pursue healthy lifestyle options by reducing poverty and suffering through preventative and clinical health, educational support, and integrated community development.
Education
Helping students pass entrance exams is only the beginning. After entering university, students still may struggle to complete rigorous requirements. Sigay Kauyagan provides tutoring, computer courses, oral English classes, scholarships with training and certificate programs, and a library to help cultural community students achieve their potential.
Instructional Farm
Slash and burn farming has led to deforestation and destructive erosion which results in low-yield crops. This damage to the livelihood of small farming communities is devastating. By demonstrating organic fertilizing methods, sloping agricultural land technique farming, and innovative ways to utilize livestock, Sigay Kauyagan hopes to participate with local farmers in creating a brighter future.
Public Health
With most medical services requiring out-of-pocket payments, many cultural communities struggle to receive the healthcare they need. Sigay Kauyagan partners with local communities to provide health training, medical clinics, and resources to promote healthy families.
Scholarships
Quality and creditable students are forced to quit their studies because their families simply cannot afford the basic needs of food and shelter. Sigay Kauyagan, through partnerships with businesses, civic groups, and generous friends, connects financial support with desperately needy families and students to help them complete their dream of an education that becomes the foundation of a hopeful future.
Community Development
Literacy and sustainability are vital in any community. Sigay Kauyagan allies with local communities to provide literacy to adults as well as providing markets for self-sustaining livelihood projects to generate income. Day camps, classes, and community centers are also available for children and teens to learn and grow.
